The producers of organic foodstuff claim that sustainable agriculture has a positive impact on the natural environment and quality of food. Organic produce is more popular than ever with the polish organic market now valued at 100 million EUR. An estimated seven percent of polish consumers regularly buy certified organic products either at healthy food shops or directly from a farm.
The range of organic products on the market is increasing all the time with new producers entering the scene. It is reported, however, that some of the offerings are not truly organic.
Market Experts, Food Producers, City Authorities and Investors met in Lublin on the 11th of March to discuss the future of organic agriculture and sustainable food production in Poland.
